Yoshitomo Nara Light Haze Days Skateboard Triptych

Created by Yoshitomo Nara in 2020 for this limited-edition skateboard triptych, the artwork Light Haze Day reflects the artist’s search for a new stylistic direction: patchworks of shimmering color that are reminiscent of French modernist landscape painting. Nara has devised an almost iridescent hue that departs from past work, signaling an emotional shift that may have taken place during the pandemic.

The Yoshitomo Nara Light Haze Days Skateboard Triptych is produced by The Skateroom, a platform for promoting, selling and producing art on skateboards that supports youth-empowering organizations, and is made from seven-ply Canadian maple wood. Each board measures 32h x 8.25w x 0.5" per deck. Yoshitomo Nara’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection
