Allan McCollum is an artist in MoMA’s collection whose work explores the meaning of objects. McCollum began his Visible Markers project in 1997, a continuing series of multiples in different sizes and shapes designed for use in expressing gratitude, imbuing a mass-produced object with a deep personal meaning. This special edition of the Visible Markers for MoMA coincides with the Museum’s newly expanded reopening in the fall of 2019 and the Museum’s 92th Anniversary.
