Belleville Chair

When designing the lithe and nimble Belleville chair, the Bouroullec brothers treated its graphic shape with the same attention to balance and proportion as a typographer would when creating a font. The back and armrests link the feet to the shells in one continuous line, a construction that is as elegant as it is practical. The chair is lightweight, portable and stackable. Both the Bouroullec brothers and the manufacturer, Vitra, are represented in MoMA's collection.
